Fire strategies are a comprehensive overview of the buildings fire safety requirements and cover- means of fire detection and warning, means of escape, compartmentation & fire spread, external fire spread, access & facilities for the fire service and fire safety management.

Strategies utilise Approved Document B or alternative approaches using codes of practice BS9991, BS9999 & BS7974 as required.

Retrospective strategies are sometimes required to understand how a building was designed to function and protect its occupants. Retrospective strategies can help identify shortfalls with current fire safety standards and guide design of buildings undergoing refurbishment or material change of use to meet their current or intended use.
